A steel plant in Kazakhstan had Industrial garment manufacturing unit, hotel, hospitality services and tram services in the city of Temirtau. These units were incorporated in 1970 and were in depleted condition incurring losses. The steel plant along with these units were acquired by ArcelorMittal in 1995. KAHM Group was exporting engineering and MRO items from India to the Kazakhstan steel plant. Seeing the success with ArcelorMittal refractories revival, KAHM Group was given the opportunity t o revive these units. n 2010 KAHM Group incorporated "Temirtau Associates and Ancillaries LLP" (TAA) as a JV agreement with ArcelorMittal to take over these facilities.
KAHM took majority shareholding in TAA with the understanding that upon successfully turning around the company, our shares would be re purchased by ArcelorMittal. After take over of the unit, the plant was re-structured and modernized to improve yield and productivity. The business was expanded to Ukraine, Europe and Romania to increase the number of customers. The product mix was changed and further products were developed for industries like aluminum and oil. TAA received an ISO 9001:2008 certification from TUV in 2015 and CE certificates for our garments in the European markets.
Today TAA is one of the most modern garment manufacturing facilities in Kazakhstan and presently employs about 1500 employees. It achieved a turnover growth of 70-80% and PAT growth by 100-120%. KAHM is proud to count TAA as another one of its succesful turmarounds. After the successfull turnarounds KAHM Group has exited this business in 2016
